When an accident is fatal for a loved one due to another person's actions, it may be what is called, in legal terms, a "wrongful death." In a wrongful death lawsuit, a deceased person's immediate family members are the parties who benefit, but only the personal representative of the deceased person's estate may bring such a suit.
