Fatal traffic accidents, when caused by the negligence of another party, are often the source of wrongful death lawsuits. In this circumstance, the family members of the accident victim would bring a lawsuit against the driver at fault, seeking compensation for the loss of the victim. Wrongful death lawsuits are similar to personal injury lawsuits in some respects, which deal with non-fatal injuries caused by another person and/or entity, but the damages in each kind of case are quite different.
