Medical Wrongful Death

Medical wrongful death claims can result when a loved one dies due to a health care provider's negligence or carelessness. This situation can occur when a doctor or nurse prescribes and/or provides the wrong type or amount of medication to a patient, when a mistake is made during a surgical or other medical procedure, or when the carelessness of medical staff results in a lack of care leading to a patient's death. In all of these cases, the doctor, nurse, surgeon, anesthesiologist, and/or other health care provider may be responsible for compensating the victim's family members for their losses. Compensation can include general damages, as well as specific damages for medical bills, funeral expenses, and loss of future wages and/or support from the deceased patient. There are, however, time limits during which family members can file a claim for wrongful death, so you should immediately contact an attorney for legal advice about your potential claim.
